A custom tattoo starts with a conversation. Before choosing a final drawing, it helps to give your artist a clear picture of what the piece should mean and how you want it to sit on your body. At PHATTHRA TATTOO STUDIO in Bangkok, appointments begin with discussing your idea, placement and approximate size.

Start with the idea

Write a few sentences about your subject, mood or personal connection. You do not need a finished design. A favourite detail, a type of line or a feeling can be a useful starting point. Tell the studio which elements are essential and which can change during the design conversation.

Think about placement and scale

Share the part of the body you have in mind and an approximate measurement in centimetres. A photograph of the placement can make the discussion easier. If you are deciding between two positions, explain both. The artist can discuss how the drawing might be adapted to each area before you settle on a direction.

Bring references with a purpose

Choose a small set of images and explain what you like about each one: the contrast, lettering, shading or composition. References help communicate a direction; your own piece can be developed around your idea rather than a direct reproduction of someone else's tattoo.

Explore a style

Browse tattoo styles and artists to compare visual approaches. You might be drawn to fine line, blackwork or a custom design. If you are unsure, bring the references to your consultation instead of forcing the idea into a category.

Turn the idea into a consultation

Send your concept, placement, approximate size and preferred dates through the booking form. PHATTHRA works by appointment. Read the studio price list and deposit policy before confirming. The final design, quote and appointment details are agreed with the studio.
